⚡Power Outage Procedure
TLDR; get back up and running smoothly after a power outage or surge.
During Power Outage:
Stay Calm: In the event of a power outage, it is essential to remain calm and collected. Alert all staff members immediately.
Inform Customers: If there are customers present at the car wash, inform them about the situation and advise them to exit the facility safely.
Shut Down Equipment: Safely shut down all network equipment and computers running on backup power.
Secure the Area: Make sure the car wash area is safe and secure. If there are any potential hazards, such as water puddles or obstacles, take appropriate measures to prevent accidents.
Check Power Source: If it is safe to do so, check the main power supply and circuit breakers to see if the issue is isolated to the car wash or a larger power outage affecting the area.
Communication: Contact the power company or relevant authorities to report the outage and inquire about the estimated time for power restoration.
After Power Restoration:
Safety Check: Before resuming operations, conduct a thorough safety check of all equipment and facilities. Look for any damages or issues that may have occurred during the outage.
Reset Equipment: Once the power is restored, check and make sure all network equipment and computers are booted up. Some locations have reset buttons on the equipment to press after power is restored. Look for illuminated red buttons and press them.
Inform Customers: If the car wash was in operation at the time of the outage, notify customers about the resumption of services as soon as possible.
Address Customer Concerns: Be prepared to address any concerns or complaints from customers who were affected by the power outage. Offer appropriate solutions or compensations, if necessary, to ensure customer satisfaction.
Remember, safety is the top priority during a power outage. If there is any doubt about the safety of resuming operations or if significant damage has occurred, consult with relevant authorities or technicians before proceeding.
Please ensure all staff members are familiar with this procedure and conduct periodic drills to reinforce the steps to be taken during a power outage. If you have any questions or need further clarification, don't hesitate to reach out to management.
