🦺Safety Protocols
Safety is #1
TLDR
Always wear the required PPE, including gloves and slip-resistant footwear. Use protective clothing, such as tall boots when entering the car wash pits.
Familiarize yourself with Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) for all chemicals used in the car wash. Understand the labeling system and the meaning of hazard symbols.
Know the location of emergency stop buttons, fire extinguishers, and first aid kits.
Do not operate machinery if you are not trained to do so.
Chemicals
Follow instructions on the product labels regarding proper use, dilution ratios, and safety precautions.
Store chemicals in designated areas, away from heat sources and direct sunlight. Keep chemicals properly sealed and labeled. Never mix chemicals unless trained to do so.
In the event of a chemical/hydraulic spill, notify your GM immediately. Follow proper spill containment procedures, using appropriate absorbent materials and personal protective equipment. Dispose of chemical waste as per- local regulations.
General Safety
Do not handle electrical equipment with wet hands or in wet conditions. Report any damaged electrical cords or outlets to your GM.
Regularly clean work areas to remove debris, water, or soap residue. Immediately clean up spills and wet areas to prevent slipping hazards. Use anti-slip mats in areas prone to water accumulation.
Regularly inspect the property for potential slip and fall hazards, such as uneven flooring or loose mats. Report any identified hazards to your GM for prompt action.
Personal Safety
Practice proper lifting techniques to avoid strain or injury. Use mechanical aids (such as wheelbarrows) when cleaning the pit. Only fill the wheelbarrow halfway to avoid injury and easy maneuvering.
Be cautious of moving vehicles and keep a safe distance from them. Communicate effectively with drivers to ensure a safe and efficient process.
Take precautions during extreme weather conditions by wearing appropriate clothing and staying hydrated. Take scheduled breaks in shaded or temperature-controlled areas to prevent heat or cold-related illnesses.
Be aware of your surroundings and report any suspicious activities to your supervisor or security personnel. Follow company protocols for personal security, including safe cash handling practices.
First Aid and Emergency Response
Know the location of the first aid kit and familiarize yourself with its contents. Report any depleted or expired items to your GM for replenishment.
Be prepared to provide basic first aid for common injuries such as cuts, burns, or minor abrasions. Follow company protocols for reporting workplace injuries and seeking medical assistance.
Keep a list of emergency contacts readily available. Memorize or have quick access to important phone numbers, such as local emergency services and the company's designated safety personnel.
Communication
Be in the tunnel the entire time next to an emergency stop button while a vehicle is being washed Don’t step on the conveyor on close to moving equipment Make sure the tunnel equipment is clear of all employees before sending the vehicle through the wash
